General
Dark najas are created by dark magis who place a spell upon the egg of an Ixan naja, turning its once colorful shell to black. This spell is known to few and difficult to learn, so many magis buy these from the dark brotherhood. Their coloration much darker and venom much more potent than that of other najas. The only known cure for a bite is a bite from the same dark naja. Unlike their counterparts, they bond with their magis, even listening to commands given, and while they can cure poisons, the only one they will cure is their magi. They are highly mischievous, and have the ability to change their coloration to that of the Ixan or Etainian naja, tricking magis and leading them into traps.

Hatchling
Newly hatched, a naja is no longer than a magis palm and completely white. It is not until they begin to age and shed that their colors begin to show. Like adults, hatchlings tend to spend their days in the sun. While adults only eat every few days, young najas require food everyday while they are growing. These hatchlings enjoy being handled by their magis and will seek them out to be held. It is not uncommon to find one of these hatchlings in a magis hair, hidden away under a hood.
Adult
Fully grown, a dark naja can reach the length of an average sized magi, making them quite large. These snakes spend the majority of their days basking in the sun, absorbing the warmth. Unlike other dryads, dark najas love being held by their magi, but will not tolerate another magi handling them. If a magi is lost, they love nothing more than to change their colors and lead them into traps. Their venom can cure most poisons and venoms, but they will not use it unless it is for their magi.
