Alright, does anyone else think that we DEFINITELY need a new stickied post in the MD called something along the lines of "Official Color Trade Thread" where you can go to switch creatures of one color with another one?

for example, lets say I am stream catching for a Tropical Leviathan and I actually pick up an Trench Leviathan. Well, I dont want an Trench, I want a Tropical. So Instead of giving up, freezing the hatchling, and having an emotional breakdown, I go to the OCT and say "Hey, I have this Trench Levi that I would like to trade for a Tropical Levi." and wait.
Then someone comes along who has a Tropical Levi and wants and Trench Levi, and we trade.

Now this could work with any kind of multi-colored creatures;

Hippocampus, Hippogryph, Gryphon, Pegasus, Pearl Wyrms, Rose Wyrms, Quetzalcoatls, Capricorn, Crystalwing (BL, G, & BR), Alphyn, Koi (the PB ones), Winged Cats, Minicorns, Elk, Arkai, and Bunnies.
And any future release too.

Now, this is just an idea, but I want to see what other people think. I believe that it would cut down on the "LTT this color creature for that color creature" threads in the MD, and make it easier for people to find creatures that are for sale.
But thats just my opinion.

This could be a good idea. If it really took off, I'm sure they would make it sticky. Start the thread and see how it goes - you certainly have enough creatures to back up your reasons for wanting this thread.
But then again, that's just my two cents.

I had the exact same idea! I would make it myself, but all my MD threads always seem to end up being ignored...

Yes, thats what I thought, buuut, all my threads seem to be ignored too. Anyway, might as well make it. I can always bump it up every day if it gets ignored.

All of those aren't an even trade, though... There are some colors that are demonstratably rarer than others. You'd wind up with a lot of "WTT amethyst capricorn for meridian!" Not sure about the pond koi, as I've never tried it.

I'm pretty sure something similar to this was suggested before but was shot down since the top of the merchant district page is already quite cluttered with topics and the admins didn't think it would be used enough. :tard:

Personally, I can't see it being used much. The only time you see colour swaps going on generally is with new releases of creatures that have different types.

The thread linked above in the Merchant District allows for the trading of the same gender creatures, just different lineages/bloodlines/what-have-you. I'm certain that it could be used to trade for different colors as well, among creatures that have a similar rarity (Leviathans, Gryphons, Winged Cats, and Quetzalcoatals, to name just a few).
