Rosehill's Crest Crafting - Moving to Graphics Galore

This thread is now closed. The crest requests can be put in my Graphics Galore thread from now on.

If you need a crest for your lineage I can make you one. I'm not the most graphically talented person around so therefore my main goal in doing this is to improve my graphic skills while doing something fun and hopefully useful to others. Any comments (especially the constructive critical ones) about my crests are welcome.

Some important notes:

• The crests are free of charge (of course if you want to tip me with an offspring from your family, I won't mind! )
• I will showcase requested crests on this topic
• I have five slots available. One crest is one slot. I'll be buried in the requests and burn out if I don't limit the work load somehow.
• Once I present you with the crest you are free to decline it or ask for refinements or modifications
• Do not modify (recolouring, resizing, adding text, removing text etc.) the crest yourself
• If you use the crest outside of Magistream please PM me where and for what purpose (I don't mind my crests used elsewhere I just like knowing what becomes of them)
• Not required but would be courteous: credit me either on the lineage description or on your profile's about me section.
• I am on UTC/GMT+2+DST and mostly work on these on weekends

What can be varied on the crest:

• Shield main colour (colour/colours of your choice, bands, stripes, squares, diamonds etc.)
• Shield frame colour (silver/gold/wooden/stony/papery/color of your choice etc.)
• Crest background (colour, texture, pattern, image etc.)
• Shield shape (more rounded, more pointy, more complex, different shape etc.)
• A heraldic ribbon (above or below or on top of the crest etc.)
• Other heraldic items (creatures on either side, helmet on top, brush of leaves on the top and sides etc.)
• Text (Lineage name, lineage motto etc.)
• Image or logo on the crest
• Crest size (see "What you'll get" section for more info)
• And, well, about everything else too. Just tell me what you'd like and I'll try doing it.

What you'll get and how to use it:
The default size for the crest is anywhere from 250x250px to 300x300px. By request I can make other sizes too or in addition to your main request (e.g. if you want a smaller one for your signature or avatar or lineage thread) with maximum size being 300x300px. They don't even have to be square! For a view of size comparisons check the spoiler. I will give you the link to the image so if you want to use the crest on your lineage topic or signature etc. you can use the link I give you.

How to use the crest?
I've been getting some questions about this so I'll put it here also:
In order to use the crest on your lineage page you first need to save the image to your own computer. (This is typically done by right-clicking the image and then choosing "save image..." or "save as..." or something similar from the menu.) Then go to your lineage page and click "Edit" (note that if you have a lineage description you need to copy and paste it again in order for it to not vanish). A small box labelled "Family crest:" for uploading the image appears. Click "Browse" next to it and choose the image you saved onto your computer earlier. Click "Save" to save changes and tah-daa: your lineage has a crest image on its page.


How to get one:
To request a crest, check if there are free slots and if there are fill in this form and post it in this topic:
(If you want crests for more than one lineage, fill in a separate form for each lineage.)

Special requests: Hmmm...could you use the base of your crests and color it kind of golden, with a sword pointing dowards with a silver handle in the middle? Behind the sword, if possible, could you make a dark gold silouette of a Gryphon looking up at the sky? Then bright gold sun-beams coming from the sword and Gryphon. A bright red ribbon wrapped around the bottom with black text that says "Of The Fallen" in Old English Text MT if you can. Thanks.

-Crest background: perhaps two feathered wings facing opposite directions. (if that makes any sense to you)

-Other heraldic items: Could you put some black feathers along the sheild frame or the bottom?
-Text: On the ribbon above have 'Of The Moon'. On the ribbon below, in smaller print, have 'Beware of the Darkside of the Moon'. If that will all fit on it. If not, just 'Beware' is fine.
-Image on the crest: I love wings, so feel free to add them if you see somewhere else they'd look nice. This lineage wil be (Hopefully) noctis enoxs only, so if you want to include one of them or a moon that'd be fine with me, but if you don't think it'd look good or don't have enough room you don't have to include them.
