Constellation Wolf

Post by MidniteScy »

(Any) Borean wolf x Constellation Hind
I read in the creature release thread that Borean wolves will be able to breed, so I'm making this assuming they will be able to.

GENERAL
This majestic wolf has pitch black fur and beautiful antlers that sweep backward over its head. Its usually plain fur shimmers with the stars in the sky at night, reflecting the constellations like its hind parent. Constellation wolves are large, majestic creatures, who command respect from even the most powerful of beasts. Not only are they efficient fighters with tooth and claw, but they can also use the large antlers on their head to knock the wind out of their opponents, a tactic otherwise unseen in wolves.

EGG
This shimmering black egg is icy cold, and you can see the stars above you reflected on its shell.

HATCHLING
This strange pairing between natural enemies is only possible at the Keep, for in the wild, these two creatures would encounter one another, but definitely not as friends. The resulting offspring is a bit strange as well, but its beautiful, silky star-splattered fur silences any doubts. As a pup, your constellation wolf is still growing its antlers. The little nubs seem to itch a lot, as they keep rubbing and butting their head on anything--including you. While they try to be gentle, these displays are getting increasingly painful as their antlers grow larger. Many magi with constellation wolf pups have lines of bruises along their legs, where their little pup butted them. Some remark that they form some sort of constellation pattern. How ironic.

ADULT
Stronger than any ordinary wolf, constellation wolves seem to have inherited both of their parents' strength. They are powerful fighters with their claws and antlers, and are stronger than most wolves, able to bring down large animals on their own; but they would never do so; their breeding sees them unwilling to attack large prey. As a result, constellation wolves eat only small animals, and will even switch temporarily to a herbivorous diet if need be. Though descendant from constellation hinds, constellations wolves lost the ability to take to the skies, but that's not a problem, as they can travel swiftly for long periods of time. Large enough to be steeds, constellation wolves make traveling through Boreus much easier. Unlike usual wolves, constellation wolves are rather solitary, and prefer to stay near their magi, helping them in anyway they can.

This is a brilliant concept! I love how people are using creatures that probably would only breed in captivity if they were real.
Please help them grow!
