I would say switch out Yawn, leave that move for a pokémon that can survive a few hits.ShadowVixen wrote:If that thingy in the spoiler tag is true yeah. Breeding a Poochyena right now so interesting news.
Poison Fang
Play Rough
Sucker Punch
Yawn
Are the attacks so far on it but considering switching yawn with crunch and now maybe Poison Fang with Iron tail.

It was a transfer only move for Gen VI which is when I learned its magnificence.Piney wrote:It could get Iron Head in Gen V though...

Re: The Everything Pokemon Guild v2.0 [HOENN CONFIRMED]
Yawn -> Substitute, possibly, which makes it a better user of Sucker Punch and gives it a way to boost its horrid frailty. It can be phazed out still, admittedly, but I feel that phazing matters less outside of simulators.
If not, Crunch is perfectly fine. I'd also say Poison Fang -> Fire Fang rather than Iron Tail or Poison Fang, not that any of the are any good. Fairy types and Steel types are far too bulky for Mightyena to handle anyways; better off running Toxic to surprise a wall or Substitute/Howl to give him a bit of functionality and power.

Poison Fang has a 50% to poison and plas the pooch I got in a trade had it. I don't like using Substitute that much. Only one Pokemon I've had any luck with on using it.

Mightyena's too frail to even get a long-term Substitute up on anyway.
Re: The Everything Pokemon Guild v2.0 [HOENN CONFIRMED]
The idea is to set up a Substitute to force your opponent to attack so Mightyena's Sucker Punch is a definitely hit, and also to prevent it from being Toxiced or, worse, burned by something slower than it. It can set up Substitute on slower Pokemon and dish out a hit or two before being forced to switch.
