Has someone tried a re-crossing sheme?
Four SB brown Parents - Two 1st gen black Offspring - One 2nd gen brown offspring of black parents
I don't have enough deer right now .. but I will give it a try

You guys are taking quite some time to get this. You're also trying the wrong combinations twice as often as the right combination.

... if we have to breed two 1st gens to get the next color, we'd *have* to breed the wrong combo twice, to be able to breed the correct one once.. but I think I'm reading too far into that
