I attempted to RP in first person once. And the thoughts and emotions of my character became too wild and random and strong, so my RP buddy ditched me. And I am not about to risk losing another.
third person most of the time. Whenever I try to write a story/book in first person I never end up finishing... I have always thought about writing one in second person. You know, the choose your own ending book sort of thing. anyway my answer is third person.

I write almost exclusively in third person, because it allows you to show more of the character's reactions without having to rely on what only one person is interpreting. First person is nice if you have a large section of someone's thoughts, but overall third allows you, at least in my opinion, a wider range of creativity with your characters.

I usually stick with third person. I've tried to start a story with first person, and in the middle I subconsciously switch to third. I find it lets me be more creative and add more detail to my characters.
You're just as sane as I am.
