I have a question... What exactly do bumps do? Please respond if you know the answer!

"Bumping" brings the topic you are posting in to the top of the page.

But anyway, a 'bump' basically bumps the topic back to the top of the forum. After a while topics tend to sink to the bottom of a forum if no one posts there. A bump brings it back to the front.

Bumping is allowed once per day. What most people do is just post the word "bump." If it's in the Merchant District you can just post a smiley, or something. It's kind of just given that it's a bump as long as it isn't posted the same day as the last one.

One MORE question. What do you guys mean when you say you got "ninja'd"?

Edit: By the way, is bumping allowed more than once a day if it's on a different post?

Example: "Hey guys I have a question. What does the word ninja'd mean?" Later... "Bump."
Then that same day you remember about that cool post you made five days ago. Are you allowed to bump it too?

Bumping is only allowed in the Merchant District, not anywhere else so you know.

To be ninja'd is to be typing an answer and by the time you hit the submit button someone else has already posted answering the question.
