I just don't really like the upturned noses of other types. If only there was a choice to get night and day bats only, then I would definitely get a night bat hatchling.

Cute picture!!!! Bats can be cute but also can be a little scary when they swoop down close to you. Though they are not really attacking you but going after insects that are flying around you. I can not wait till my little bat hatches! I hope it turns out to be a girl but a boy would be okay.

Do the Crystal Shards have expiring date or something? Like... if I bought some this month I can use them in the next one? lol, I searched but couldn't find anything on the matter, and I love to ask silly things.

No, shards don't expire. You paid for these with real money after all, we're not going to take them from you just because you didn't spend them immediately.
