Hey folks. The legend writing competition has come and gone, now it is time to announce the winners. We enjoyed reading all of your work, and look forward to more contests in the future! Please note that the first and second prizes have been doubled simply because the stories you all wrote deserved more. Without further ado, the winners are as follows:

In first place comes Finlandia, with the lovely tale The Wanderer and the Whitestone. Finlandia will receive ten crystal shards.

In second place we have our own Morgaln with How the Leviathans Got their Colors. Morgaln will receive four crystal shards.

The remainder of the chosen tales, and winners of 10,000 gold (in no particular order):

~ The Creation of the World by nightbug08
~ Fury of the Sun by Blkk1
~ An Island Chain Creation Myth by MegaRose
~ The Hermit and the Stream by Glow
~ Earn Your Scales by Snow

Congratulations to all those who won, and I'd like to thank everyone that participated! This one was a tough choice, especially with so many great entries.

In other news, July will soon come to an end. The fearsome dragons will be leaving with it. If you wish to buy dragons, I would encourage you to pick up some while they are still readily available. On the first a new donation creature will arrive. Be excited.

There is also a new global rule:
It is expressly forbidden to post any images or links to images from the i.magistream.com domain as well as any creature that belongs to a staff member. Any violation of this rule will result in an immediate warning!
That means you are allowed to link to your own creatures or those of other members, but you may not take any images directly from the system!
If you don't know what I'm talking about, you're probably in the clear. Feel free to consult a staff member if you have any questions.

People have taken the pictures of the newly released creatures directly from the site (they have to be stored there somewhere so the images of your creatures can be displayed), thus spoiling them before any have hatched or grown up.
That is now forbidden!

If it's your critter it's not a problem she said. If it's not your critter or attached to a non-admin user name, probably bad idea.

cool. just clarifying.

also, i use an image of a fire phoenix egg as a link to my girls' creatures - since this is a common egg, is that permissible? or should i upload it to my photobucket?

If it's just an image to link to the site, it would probably be good to upload it to photobucket.

You can link to your own creatures and post them where you like (except click exchange sites)

You may also link to creatures of other users as long as they are not staff.
Oh, and wolfeyedangel you might want to read side infos sometimes :t-xD:
