You can create a linage when you breed them. The two creatures you breed will have the family name when you click that button that says "create a family" or something like that and enter a linage name that isn't taken yet, then successfully breed them, IF it's successful.
If it fails to create a kid, then you'd have to try again doing that over again.

As long as you're not stealing someone else's art, then yes, any image is ok. And the crest can be "Png files under 200k and at most 300x300 in size are accepted."

Hmmm.... My problem is that the lineage will be based off of a movie/universe. I think I know what image I want to use, but its a still from the movie itself. Does that count as ganking someone's artwork?

If you were to use someone else's fan art of the movie as your crest, with out the permission, then that would be theft. Using single images from the movie- or posters and such that the studio has out there, is generally ok. I don't remember the specific copyright laws, something about 15 seconds or less is allowable, as long as you're not claiming it as your own.

Trust me, if I owned anything from that movie it would be the antagonist chained up in my basement I just had the idea one day and finally got the stuff to make it happen Just wanna make sure its legal....
