Absolutely not! I was on Gaia before they implemented flash games and everything went downhill after that.This site is fine as is and has no need for such things.

Oh god....my worst nightmare... Ok what would the point of these be? I don't like the idea of earning gold from them really...We need a gold sink, and if we don't earn gold from these and the point is just for "fun" well we already have fun on the forums already. Plus flashgames bring in tons of new people fast, so we end up with a few hundred newbies at a time and more than likely, they'll mostly be trolls and if not, they just play for the flashgames. We won't be expanding the friendly community with this that much. And how is the server supposed to support them all? We already only get tons of lag with a few hundred users on, if we add flashgames, expect to get a thousand pretty quickly, and almost none of them interested in donation pets or just donating for the site. *Goes off to find something else to possibly replace MagiStream in case this nightmare does get implemented* EVIL EVIL LITTLE FLASHGAMES

Edit: And the thread about them had most of us hating the idea, why did you pick this first if most of the people in the first thread hated it?

I'm finding myself agreeing whole-heartedly with Kisaia and Dysphoria.

Gaia started out as a friendly forum with fun things to dress up an avatar. They implemented FlashGames and poured a ton of money into marketing over the internet via small ads showing the "fun flash games". Now... I won't even touch Gaia. I used to play every day since 2005 but I refuse to get near the site. There are just too many people in it for the gold from games, for just the games, or to be rude and troll. I rarely meet anyone there who is actually interested in meeting other people and making friends.

I really, really love this site the way it is. Implementing Flash Games for pure entertainment wouldn't bother me. However, earning gold from it would probably make things more expensive here since it's already just so easy to make gold. If you make it any easier, prices will go through the roof. Also, implementing them as part of quests may hurt some users since those with dial up already have enough issues trying to do the text based quests. Flash would pretty much take forever to load and they may not be able to do it at all.

If Flash Games become a part of MagiStream, I'd likely stay to see what happens. But when the forum turns into Gaia and we get tons of trolls, I would likely be extremely sad and have to find a new place (which is extremely difficult since this place is so wonderful).

they should always be playable...battle system and quest would be awesome...but it should give you an archive where you can go back and play them again...or play them with a friend

Please don't overreact and start unnecessary panic. There are as of yet no direct plans to implement these or there wouldn't be a point to this poll. Yes that thread had most of you hating the idea; "most of you" being about a dozen people, which isn't a representative sample.
Bringing in new players is actually a positive thing in my eyes; and I trust in the moderators to handle any kind of troll appearing. I wouldn't worry too much about the server, either. You can trust us to keep that in mind.
Gaining gold from them is just one possibility; the second poll option would incorporate flash games into quests; we would have more ways to make quests interesting beyond just "breed this, spend this amount of gold" which does get boring and unoriginal after a while. It probably wouldn't attract any people just for flash games, because it would be part of the storyline and not be independent from the actual purpose of the site (which is collecting creatures).

Edit: btw, I am purposefully not stating my own opinion on this since I don't want to influence anyone, so I am just giving you the facts.

Hmm.... I think I'll have to vote 'No' on this, given the options offered. While I think that incorporating small games would be great fun, I tend to be prejudiced against anything utilizing Flash. In my experience, nothing speeds a site that uses Flash up faster... than disabling it. There is a good reason for the term 'Flash-Trash site', though that usually refers to those that post Flash-heavy advertisements (Which, incidentally, have a horrible tendency toward giving me migraines. However, since the proposal is for a game rather than ads, I doubt that would be a problem).

Although using games as part of the Quests might be interesting, that's the only arena wherein I would currently support them. I am not a fan of 'battle' systems.

I haven't read through everything yet, because I'm only on for a few minutes. Would they be just for fun, or could you win creatures, gold, etc. from them? 'Cos I'd love a feature like that!
