I changed a male hatchling (had feathers) to a female with a gender change potion and it was suddenly in the nekkid phase. So I betcha the males/females have different cycles.

Are you sure it's a day night cycle? I currently have an orange bright crested male and a burnt out looking female in my keep side by side

I think it's like this; day/night (probably 12PM to 6PM /and/ 12AM to 6AM) = both adult genders are orange.
Dawn (6AM to 12PM) = Male is burnt, female still has orange feathers.
Dusk (6PM to 12AM) = Female is burnt, male gets back its orange feathers.

I through it was day/night change but the truth is it's way more complicated.
The hatchling color sometimes doesn't correspond with the color of the adult sprite.
I will post my findings when I'm done observing my pets make a full day rotation.

Is it possible to get the Wugu Amagnaes with the purple and orange corn from this event? I've gotten all the others but not those, and I don't think I've seen those in the egg clicking threads either. Am I missing something? TIA

Hmm...this is a very interesting concept. The normal sprites for the Amagnae adults are quite nice and it is very unique to have them take on an ashy form. Though it does seem kind of odd that one gender will be bright and the other will be ash...like would that have some deeper meaning as to why? Like is it a survival tactic? The fire adult would lure danger away from the ash parent who defends the eggs and young?

One thing I do like most of all is the fact that we have several phoenixes in-game, but they are each different in their own way.

They burn to ash when they reach optimal temperature - which can be at any random time so this was the best way to display that.
