Lineage with the most unique breeds?

Hello, recently I’ve been thinking about making a lineage with the goal of having the most possible breeds in it. What creature would be the best to start with to reach this goal?

My MacFenris family originally started as a Direwolf line, but I've realized that because of the way hybrids work on MS, a bunch of other creatures can be bred into the family. It currently has direwolves, direcores, manticores, chimeras, ibexes, an amethyst capricorn, and a ruby capricorn. If you count albino dires, albino direcores, and all capri variants as their own species, it's possible to have 12 different species in the family. I haven't yet looked to see if there are any species with more hybrid links yet, though.

Dire wolf was my first guess admittedly, probably gonna be what I go with. I’m just curious if there might be something else out there. Thanks though!

I've been looking for a member of a family I remember seeing, but I can't remember the name or what the progenitors are. Anyway.... the family has every type of crystalwing, pygmy gemdragan and pygmy crystalwing in it.. and I think rewins/ancient rewins. So that's 80+ different species, maybe... and with new pygmies coming with Magiversary that number will be going up.

I'm just drawing a blank on the family name, sorry.

Ooh interesting, are the old crystalwings hard to come by?

Depends on how old.. the older they are, the harder they are to find. I'm hoping the Black Market arrives for the upcoming Magiversary and will have some of the oldest Crystalwings available. Not too long back the BM had golden and purple elder crystalwings, but they are only breedable with themselves and each other, so not useful for multi-species breeding.

The ones I'm hoping for are the blue, gold and purple ones.. and the Pteiras..

I've been trying to come up with a way to actually 'show' the crystalwings in a multi-species family, but I can't figure it out.. YET. Because when you breed the crystalwing with a rewin dragon, you NEVER get a crystalwing, it's always a pygmy gemdragon. So I created a new family and I'm going to experiment a little.

Interesting, I’ll keep an eye on this thread and see how it goes, for now I think I’ll go with the direwolf or ibex starter
