I cannot tell you how much kinship I feel to your story, as my own is very similar.
I'm very proud of you for exploring everything and standing up for yourself. :) Sounds like we could be soul siblings! lol

It's not easy... But the reward is well worth the fight, I feel.

I'm still on that path, & am very certain it's the final right religious path for me. I won't be changing my faith again, only making & growing it. Many parts are borrowed from other faiths which makes it sort of a franken-faith.
Franken-faith

In the end what is most important in my eyes is not so much a religion you adhere to but the spiritual path and that path comes from the inside. Besides people claiming to know what the Old Faiths truly looked like are either lying or deluded. We have so many gaps to fill and a lot of knowledge is simply lost.
Creating your own religion shouldn't be taboo as it is completely normal in a society where we no longer live as a part of a family/clan/whatever but are far more individualistic beings.

In terms of the concept of magic or the mystical properties of things, I am not a believer. However, I am not a full disbeliever either. I am a skeptic which is a beautiful position where you are wide open to the fact that everything you believe in could be wrong tomorrow. I find the concept of witchcraft and such highly unlikely as do I with spirits. That said, I know I could be wrong on such things and I also know my knowledge on such subjects is woefully inadequette to make a fully rspectible judgement.

But I believe we should all seek our faiths, whatever those might be and like all forms of knowledge, we should never stop asking questions.

I was raised Christian but there were things most Christians believe I couldn't get behind. I think Christianity has a lot right but not enough for me to be a Christian. I also admire Islam and Budhism, though there are things I see wrong with those faiths as well.

I am a bit of a belief buffet. I take things from religions that I think are right and reject things I see as wrong, while coming up with my own beliefs as well to construct my worldview in terms of spirituality.

Hi! I have actually just started on my journey. ^-^ I am not sure which word is right to describe me yet, but I have been studying witchcraft and watching witch youtubers talk about their practices and how they do spells. :3

I'm so glad you started exploring your own spiritual path. :D

Finding something that works for you is so fulfilling and helpful. Especially if you suffer with mental health stuff like depression or similar ailments. I don't get to practice my witchy faith as much as I like (because I live with & take care of elder family members) but just knowing the stuff in my heart makes me feel comforted.

I consider myself an Eclectic Pagan... and I concur with ToxicFlame that finding a spiritual path that works for you is good for your mental health.

My best advice would be to just learn, research, and experience as MUCH AS YOU CAN so you can decide what is the best path for you.

My first experience was a friend introducing me to Wicca, but after about a year of study and self-research I realized that the title of 'Wicca' didn't QUITE fit me so now I just go with the title of 'Pagan Witch' because I appreciate the umbrella~ness of it. Borrow from everywhere. Spirituality is an individual experience and you deserve to find what whatever helps you be the best you can be.

At least, that's what I think.
