"It's really none of your concern," Roan said as he downed the rest of his half glass of wine. He really didn't want to talk to Rafe about it. "Could you get me more wine?"

"Athletes? I don't know. Not in this society," Hikaru said with a laugh, smiling at Alex. "I love them already, Alex, I really do. I want them to be here."

“Oh okay then I’ll drop it,” Rafe said in reply with a slightly shocked expression on his face when he heard Roan’s response to what he had said before nodding in reply to his question. He got up and picked his glass up as well before walking over to the fridge where the wine was, got it out, poured a bit more into the glass, and then put the wine back in the fridge before walking back over to the table and setting it down in front of the former. “I’m going to go for a short run in the woods. I’ll be careful and will be back soon,” he said shortly afterward before kissing both him and Kai on the forehead and then heading towards the front door of the apartment. He opened it, closed it again behind him, and then headed towards the back of their building where the woods were located. When he was far into the trees where he knew no one would see him shift, he shifted into his wolf form, and then took off running in no particular direction.

“Well then maybe we should move somewhere else where it will allow them to be athletes,” Alex said in reply with a shrug before hearing the rest of what Hikaru said. “Me too,” he said before kissing him softly on the forehead.

"Come here, baby," Roan said as he moved to pick Kai up, taking him upstairs and laying him in his crib once Rafe was. Afterwards, he went back down to the kitchen and got the whole bottle of wine out. "I wish he hadn't brought it up. I don't want to remember that," he said as he started to cry, drinking glass after glass of wine as he cried. "What makes it worse is that he left."

"Do you want to take a little nap with me?" Hikaru asked softly with a smile.

Rafe slowed when he came across a clearing and sat there for a little while and then got back up and ran back towards the apartment building while still in wolf form. When he got to the backyard, he shifted back to human form, and then headed back to the staircase that would lead back up to the floor that their room was on. When he got back to that floor, he got out the key to the door out of his pocket, unlocked the door, closed it behind him, and then put the key back in his pocket before locating Roan on the couch with the whole bottle of wine and his glass. “Roan?” he asked when he heard him crying as he went to the front of the couch and knelt down in front of him.

“Sure,” Alex said in reply before closing his eyes while still laying next to him.

Roan was quite drunk, moving away from Rafe when he moved to sit in front of him. "Leave me alone. You left me!" he sobbed as he took another sip of his wine as he continued to cry.

Rafe sighed when he heard what Roan said before saying in reply, "I did but then I came back and you also took me back. I was by your side when Kai was born. I also only left for a few minutes earlier to run but I came back. You're also underage like me so you shouldn't be drinking." He then took the bottle away from the former and put it back in the fridge before going back over to where his love was, taking the glass away shortly afterward, bringing it over to the sink, dumping out the rest of the wine that was there, and then going back over to the fridge to fill it with ice water. He then went back over to Roan and gave him the refilled glass for him to drink before kneeling in front of him again. "I'm also sorry for bringing up what I did earlier. Hikaru suggested I ask you about it but maybe now wasn't the time to."

Roan put the glass of water to the side, not wanting to drink it. "You drink underage, and the first time I do, you take it away from me," he said with a pout, curling against the couch as he laid there on it. He wasn't ready to talk to Rafe about what happened even if he needed to, especially since it was suddenly brought up.

“I know I do and I shouldn’t. I’m sorry for bringing up the topic I did and I won’t do it again. I don’t want you to have a really bad hangover tomorrow which you might already have due to the amount you drank but I was trying to help it not be worse,” Rafe said in reply as he moved to be sitting Indian style on the floor in front of the couch instead of kneeling so that his legs wouldn’t fall asleep.

"I need to tell you what happened, but you asked me so suddenly that I was surprised," Roan said as he moved to look over at Rafe but still laid there on the couch. "I could have lost Kai because of what happened..."

“Oh then I apologize too for doing that,” Rafe said in reply before holding one of Roan’s hands and then hearing the rest of what he said. “You got beaten up? Who beat you?” he asked with wide shocked eyes that were also turning a bit dark from anger that was starting to well up inside him.
