Guys, you are all thinking overly complicated. It really isn't that difficult. Ask yourself these questions:

Are you making something edible? If yes, it's not allowed.
Is all you are doing painting or drawing (on whatever base)? If yes, it's not allowed.
Did you buy a package that contains all necessary pieces along with a step by step guide how to assemble it? If yes, it's not allowed.

If you answered all three questions above with no, what you are doing is fair game. Go ahead and do it.

Would a mug be considered a decoration>?
It was completely made, of clay, by me.

No, a mug is not a decoration.

So, I assume I could have baked my clay? I didn't because I had taken the directions perhaps too literally. Clay certainly is not edible, LOL--but I would like to bake it if I can, so I can do a bit more as far as decorating the tree.

You can still bake it and change your entry to the baked version if you want to. There's a lot of time left.

So, Um, someone has had the same idea as I, But I'm making it out of completely different stuff, and I started it a while ago, before this person put thiers up, Is it ok if I finish mine and put it up, even though, it's more or less the same idea, or do I have to trash the entire thing and do something else, because, its a really good idea, and I've already spent a lot of time and effort into it. I'm making it differently, with different materials and different sizes and it won't really look too much the same.

It's fine, even if you were using similar things.
