In those cases they have the circles engraved or printed on into something so they are still using them, it just means they don't have to draw them out each time. What I mean by transmutation without a circle, is like what Ed and their teacher could do.

well this is my character. took a bit to work around a complication, but I did it. hope he is accepted.

Appearance: Long, dark brown hair which rests about to his mid back, bright blue-green eyes which can change color, a slender, feminine frame and face. He is 5"4' tall. Much of his clothing is black and compliments his feminine form, often being female clothing.

Personality: Smart, loyal, kind, intelligent, quiet,
Primary Alchemies: Metal and water
Secondary Alchemy: None
Weapons if any: His automail arm is equipped with a retractable arm blade and engraved with a transmutation circle, as well as a special brace that bears a transmutation circle on it, both circles allow him to transmute without having to draw a circle each time. His left transmutation circle is more specialized for metal, whether his own arm or from another source, while his right is more specialized for water.
Missing limbs/automail: He has automail legs and an automail left arm.
History: Jason had studied Alchemy for most of his life, teaching himself how to transmute various things, soon finding a particular interest in water and metal based Alchemy. After an accident which took his arm and both his legs he had them replaced with automail. Despite his arm having been weaponized with a retractable blade, he felt that he could make it a bit more useful by engraving a transmutation circle into it, allowing him to easily transmute metal without having to draw a circle. Later on he did the same with a bracer, only focusing it for water, allowing him to transmute both faster and easier than normal. Eventually he decided to join the resistance, feeling that his skills could come in handy against the government and help a lot of people in the process.
Other: He has a unique ability to know things, even if he has never heard or read it before. He doesn't quite know the reason behind it and just refers to it as his Sixth Sense.
