I guess like everyone else is saying, it depends on the situation. Not everyone has the same access to good education and everyones writing abilities are different so as long as I can understand what's being said then I'm cool with some bad grammar haha. A little bit of silly grammar never hurt anyone.

I guess I can seperate grammar problems into two areas, one that bothers me and one that doesn't. There is lack of ability, and what could be called either lack of care or lack of effort. Lack of ability is someone, who either from neurological problems, English as a second Language, or just having trouble wrapping their head around the English language to communicate clearly is just not currently something they can do well. It is right and proper to tolerate this or at the very worst, to kindly help them out with courtesy and respect for their feelings.

Lack of effort/care is when someone is perfectly capable of communicating clearly but does not take the time to write or speak clearly through not caring or just being lazy about their communication. There are times to even allow for this based on the person maybe being stressed or something, but if it is consitant, we have the right to be annoyed and such things do annoy me.

It does bother me, if they're a native English speaker who is old enough to know the difference between you're/your, their/they're/there, lose and loose, to and too, should've/should of, and definitely/definately. Typos are expected to happen, but if you don't care to learn or correct yourself, that is the problem. The tendency of people to mix up weary/wary has really been grinding my gears lately. I don't know why that particular one bothers me so much, especially since I understand why they think it's spelled that way. Just a pet peeve of mine, I guess.

If it's really bad it will bother me. If there are some mistakes here and there then no.

Run on sentences bother me. It's very hard for me to read if everything is in the same sentence and feels like my brain is running a marathon. I know of someone on another forum who does this in paragraph form. I always skip what they say.
Same with slang or chatspeak or acronyms. I don't understand. It took me months on a horse game to understand TB meant Thoroughbred. Your is always easier to read than ur. My mind slows down when it's not written in a format I'm familiar with.

I only handle it with very close friends because I love them way too much to leave them just for some letters on a screen, but I can see why otherwise
