I did not expect to find a thread about porn when I visited this part of the forum for the first time I'm rather excited.

If you're not abusing it, then I think it can be a good thing. For me it relives stress and makes me feel better. It also entertains me. For people like my stepfather who were literally addicted to it (in a bad way!)....not such a good thing xD

I was seventeen, but I started right as I was graduating from high school, so I was close to eighteen. I may have come across it and shown some interest before that, but I don't really remember.

I feel that because most porn is a work of fiction (e.g. staged scenes in videos, fictional stories that are written) a lot of it does represent women, and probably men, in an unrealistic way. There are, of course, videos and writing that represent real people in real situations, so some of it is realistic as well.

Do you feel that porn is damaging to our youth?
If you start too young, yes. If some of it is unrealistic then it can create unrealistic expectations in people who are younger, or even in people who have never had a chance to experience something that is more realistic.

In your opinion, is porn a good way to bond?
For some people, maybe. For me? No. I've never been in a relationship, I'm not married. I rarely even talk about porn to other people unless I know they won't freak out (a lot of my friends are anti-porn). I prefer to be by myself when viewing it, so it's not something I would use to bond.
