humans: boy named Aladdia and girl named Sapphire and Xenia;warrior princess


There was a silence. A mist went in. Then Xenia, the warrior princess, saw a glimpse or something big.

Xenia drew in a quick breath and gripped her long scimitar tighter. This was no ordinary mission. The dragon residing in this cave had killed a dozen people in the last three months. Five had been villagers, but the others were all warriors who tried to slay the evil beast. The cave was dark, and she dared not light a lamp, for fear it would awaken the slumbering dragon.

The only noise was the faint dripping of water from stalactites. But what was that thumping? Ah, it was her heart- the silence was thick enough the warrior could hear her own pulse. The cave seemed to stretch back forever, but it wasn't long before the scent of death floated to her on the stagnant cave breezes. Xenia peered around the corner and saw the great form of the sleeping dragon.

Its hide was immaculately polished, a stark contrast to the rest of the cave. There were bones scattered around the floor, and the once-shiny spoils the dragon had taken from its victims were no longer clean. The state of the cave and the dragon said that it was fairly young, and not yet experienced in the care of treasure. Xenia crept towards the dragon's head, raised the sword high, and prepared to sever its head.

A reptilian eye flashed open, blazing with anger...
