Gimme a phrase, I'll write you a story!

In order to practice my writing, I want people to give me any of the following:

-- a word
-- a phrase
-- a song

that they want me to write a story about, and I will do so. Don't tell me anything about plot/characters/etc, because I'll ignore it and just use the words.

Thats pretty much it. I'm fine with explicit songs, by the way. And I do have a place to listen for free (legally, I swear!!) so don't worry about whether or not I'll know it.

With that said, let the words and phrases and such flow!

Shortness is short. I really liked the idea, though it's kinda cliche. I dun like how this turned out though...

It happens today, and I am not ready. I look at him, but then I must look away. So long I tried to hide him from his destiny, but today he no longer looks like my son. Today he wears the robes of my husband. I have to close my eye to keep from crying. Where did those years of his youth go? He is only 15, I want to scream, but it will change nothing.

I feel a single tear on my cheek and lift a single, gloved finger to it. I walk up to him and adjust the cloak around his shoulders. He only stares at me, and this makes me so much sadder. I turn, skirts shifting around my feet.

It is time.

I glide down the steps and stare straight ahead as I am led to my carriage. Everything is happening too fast, and suddenly I am lost. I hear the door close and feel the carriage moving beneath me. And suddenly I am weeping; my tears are flowing rapidly.

And then, suddenly, the carriage stops. Getting out, I look around, look at the stones sticking out of the ground. Once more, I cry. I do not even know when it happened, only that it did.

But I must cry no more. I must be strong for them both.

I watch him come out of his carriage, barely glancing at me. But I am now resigned to this fact, and while I am saddened, I will not cry. I swear this to myself as I join the procession of people marching to the spot where the ceremony will commence.

And then I watch, as they lower it into the ground. As the one I loved vanishes from my sight for the last time. I look over at him, and he looks emotionless, and suddenly I want to slap him. This is his father, yet he seems to not care at all.

He catches my eye and nods at me, the only sign I have that he still cares. And then he turns on his heel and walks away.

My son, forced to become the king all too soon.
