I'm going to name mine for the rats my jr. high science teacher kept - Mendelssohn and Madame Curie.

My first thought was rat-kitsune rather than a rat king, since a rat king is multiple rats bound together by their tails as opposed to one rat with a bunch of tails.

I always feel sorry for rat kings when I read about them. Poor critters, all tangled up like that. I like this take on the concept much better.

Gosh, I saw the egg and I was like "roots = plant = awesome!" But then, like, multi-tailed rats?
We have rats; black and white ones, too. Okay, sure, these are two-shards, but I'm still disappointed. In my opinion, the tails on the adults look... I don't know. Like they're moving, squirming. And the mouse is in this awkward position that makes it look like it's s***ing out the "tails". This is the adult, mind you. I might just get the egg and forget it was a rat. Or just the hatchling, which isn't half bad.
