They hold out a finger and begin digging into a pocket.
After a few moments, their hand emerges, clutching a wriggling little centipede of some sort. "It isn't poisonous or magical in nature, I promise." It's offered to the automaton instead of the little dragon. "I'm, uh. Tywysog. Or Ysog, I guess. Here."

The automaton delicately picks up the centipede, picking up the wriggling thing to hand directly to the dragon's grasping little claws. "Thank you. I am Eurus. I trust your ability to not hold poisonous insects where they will bite you."
The dragon takes out the centipede in two bites and settles down some more as Eurus goes back to reading at the same fast pace they were before.

"Lucky me." They mutter, squinting. "I don't think I've ever seen you before."

Eurus nods. "I do believe it has been some time since I was last activated. Much has changed, and I cannot remember how to take care of the creatures I have been tasked with taking care of."

The automaton looks at the dragon now softly snoozing away. "Thankfully most of the other creatures are independent. Or still eggs."

"That's good that's good- activated? You were activated?"

Ysog shifts forward, interested, unhousing one of the ratumbidae from their lap. It flaps into the air, chittering out a scolding. "Right, yes, sorry Seeker-" they hold out their hand and the creature lands, seemingly satisfied by this offering. "So- to be clear- you aren't a human using magic to augment yourself-" They say, moving their hand to let Seeker drop onto their shoulder like he couldn't fly there himself and absently stroking his nose- "You're actually an automaton?"

"Yes, I was activated to take care of the collection of Professor-" Eurus blinks as they pet their dragon, and they blink like a porcelain doll that you tilt back and forward for the eyes to close. "...Was it not obvious?"

"Professor....?" The query is cut off as they process the second half of the statement and Ysog scowls, actually looking them over now. "Well- obviously it is now." They say, picking their quill up again and glaring at their map like it has personally wronged them. "Well, good luck with that, I guess. I really have to finish this map before night hits, if you'll excuse me. >:/"

Eurus shrugs and goes back to reading for a second, the dragon in their lap chirping as he sleeps.

The automaton looks back at the wizard. "I have bad news for you, my friend."

"Why, what-" Ysog looks down at the map they were copying off of. It's blank. "Oh, are you- GAH!" The mage cries out, standing quickly and scrambling through a series of sheets of paper. Apparently not finding what they hoped to, their hands slam down on the table, and all the ratumbidae scatter across the table and into the air, briefly swarming across the open room. Even the Ilikatal looks a little perturbed, using her beak to pull at some of the wizard's hair. "....right. Well. We'll start over tomorrow, then." They speak in a voice that is near-silent and tremors slightly, as if last minute they remember they are in a Library.

"What has happened?" Eurus stands up, carrying their Psittarx Dragon in their arms as they stand up to look at Ysog's table. They tilt their head as they examine the blank map. "...That map was not blank when I set my books down a moment ago."
