1. At Domino's the delivery charge is NOT the tip! Drivers often live off of their tips, just like waiters and waitresses do so "Tip your driver."

2. If a kid won't eat their veggies on their own, try making it fun. A great way to do it is with Veggie pizza. Look under the spoiler for the basic of it. And have the kid help you make it. Kids love helping with things and are more likely to eat things they help make.

The veggie pizza of which I speak is in fact with uncooked veggies. Pick your favorites(if you like) or what you think will be good together. My family always did onions, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and sometimes diced tomatoes. Chop them up really fine. Not to paste, just to recognizable tiny chunks. Use some Pillsberry(or other) croissants, lay them flat on a pan to make the crust and bake it. Take it out and spread cream cheese over it, sprinkling the veggie medley all over it. Now serve and enjoy.

3. Don't run across the center of a busy street. It should be common sense but I can't tell you how many people I see doing it. It's stupid and dangerous. Some people would argue that whoever gets hit by a car doing that deserves it and should be kept out of the gene pool. But I disagree. People just need to relearn why they're taught that when they're children.

4. Don't go into a restaurant a minute or two before they close. Yes technically they're still open, but more often than not, by the time you actually get your food it will already have been past their closing time. If you've ever closed in the food business, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

5. Have a savings account in a bank that's been around for a long time, and use it as such. Put a certain amount of money away with every paycheck and before you know it you'll have enough money to buy that car that you wanted. Or the washer and dryer you've been needing for months. Or if you lose your job enough to fall back on until you get a new job. But don't touch it before then.

6. Don't purchase anything on credit that you can't pay cash for. It's a generally good idea really. My parents have excellent credit scores because they live by this policy. And because of that they almost never have to worry about finances.

7. It's okay to wait a year or two before actually going to college. Give yourself a break from school, especially if you hate school, and just figure out your life. People think that you can't do anything with your life until you have a college education and to some degree that is true, however you also need to know which one is for you. Taking a year off of school may help you decide what you actually want to do with your life rather than just throwing yourself into a college program you may not stick with and lose/waste a lot of money doing that. That isn't to say that some people don't need that first year of college immediately after high school. Sometimes that's what it takes to help you realize you're not quite ready for it. You'll figure out what it is that you need to do, but a year off won't hurt anything.

8. Don't use Norton! It eats away at any other security program on your computer. Don't get it in the first place. They send viruses of their own making to your computer to test their system, but if you had it once but are using something different, chances are you'll be getting the viruses on your computer because they're still sending them to it.

9. Honey is one of the best home remedies. Local honey will help with allergy symptoms. Natural honey is great for teeth because it helps strengthen the enamel, helps with digestion some, and helps boost the immune system. My recommendation, especially if you have kids with a sweet tooth, find candies with honey in them instead of so much processed sugar, and use it to sweeten your kids drinks.
P.S. Warm milk with a little bit of honey and buttered gram crackers make for a good calming snack for a kid having a hard time sleeping.

10. Hard boiled eggs are genearally perfect after exactly fifteen (15) minutes on the stove, including the time you wait for the water to boil.

11. Do what you love and the money will follow. It's a great saying, but it can also be very true. With all of the new jobs being created every day, the possibilities are virtually endless. If you learn about yourself what you want to do the most, start doing it, get really good at it and don't be afraid to show it off.

12. Do new things. I know it can be intimidating to meet new people, but it helps you with your social skills which will help you in numerous ways that you can't put into a concise list. It is also good for the soul.

It's interesting the tricks that the past can play on the mind and the heart. It takes courage and discipline and maybe a bit of optimism to look to the future, but not live only for it, to live in the present but never forget your goals and dreams, and to keep an ear to the past without repeating it. It's possible I'm thinking too much again, but I thought it would be worthwhile to say.

Domino's Pizza: Things to know

1) Tip your drivers! The delivery charge does NOT go to the drivers as their tip!
2) If you're ordering more than 3 or 4 Pizza's, call ahead and say what time you'll need them.
3) Thin crust sometimes burns around the edges. There's really nothing that can be done to prevent that, but they do the best they can.
4) If you don't know which Domino's delivers to your address, order online. It will automatically go to the store that delivers to your area.
5) If you order a Carry-Out and pay with a credit card, have the card you used with you.
6) When you order online, cheese and sauce is automatically selected for you. By clicking on them, you are telling them you DON'T want it.
7) Please don't yell. If there is a problem with your order, they WILL do everything they can to make it right, you don't have to be mean to get what you want.
8) Ingredients vary from location to location depending upon how popular the toppings are.
9) Most Domino's do not take checks. It's a policy.
10) They do not sell by the slice, but if you can wait about 7 to 15 minutes, their pizzas are ALWAYS fresh.
11) Some Domino's stores close Carry-Outs before they stop delivering. Call to find out the hours of the store you are planning on visiting.
12) If someone doesn't know if they deliver to your address, chances are they are new to that store, please be patient with them. If there isn't anyone in the store who can tell them if they deliver to you, try ordering online.
13) Sliced sausage tastes different than regular sausage. If you ask for it, expect it to be different.
14) Provolone cheese, both shredded and sliced is very greasy.
15) If you are severely allergic to any ingredients they may have, tell them when you order. They WILL take every precaution they can to keep those things off your pizza.
16) Artisan pizzas can NOT have anything added to them. You CAN however take things off and have extras of things that are already included on it.
17) 2 Liters are the larger sodas, the 20 oz ones are the smaller ones. (You'd be surprised how many people mix them up)
18) Pizzas with a lot of wet toppings (like tomatoes, red peppers, etc.) tend to be a little bit soggy.
19) They will not deliver to our own parking lot if Carry-Outs are closed. You MUST have a legitimate, physical address.
20) They do reserve the right to refuse service, however rare it may be.

An observation about cosmic events and behavioral patterns

Ever note how dramatic and nonsensical people sometimes get around full moons? Well that's only a minor cosmic event. Due to not being used to the energies produced/surrounding/related to cosmic events, it can and often does affect people in a number of ways. Probably the most noticeable is attitudes and perceptions. For whatever reason, people tend to have a hard time seeing through the energies. Like a fog in our mind blocking out some rational thought, blocking out different emotions and letting others through. Appetites may change as well as it may affect nerves and muscles to a lesser extent.
