Re: Good Things discussion!
This is a minor one but I have recently played with a really fun Skyrim character.
This is Svetur Frost-Worn:
So basically I made a Stalhrim-clad axe-wielding warrior that also uses frost magic like the elemental destruction spells, frost atronachs, and the frost breath shout. It's been pretty fun.
(if you're wondering the mask is from the "black mage armor" mod)
It's a lot of fun to play, and I've been enjoying it over the past few days.

Although Covid really kicked our butts, nobody died; I recovered completely, and my husband is now walking without a cane (he spent 9 weeks in the hospital, and has been in physical therapy for 6 months) and is expected to eventually come close to where he was before all this. I learned to ask for help, and friends and family have been wonderful about helping us with everything from grocery shopping, to cooking us meals, to driving my husband to Dr appts and PT so I could go back to work.
My son and daughter-in-law bought their first house, and my son now has joint custody of his daughter instead of every-other-weekend visitation.

Re: Good Things discussion!
No one I know personally has come down with the sickness. The closest anyone in my family has come (thus far) is my eldest who had a classmate come to school with it before showing symptoms. 2 Weeks of quarantine later both my children are completely fine \o/ As in the school social distancing, mask wearing, and hand washing protected my boys.
My bf also took the initiative to start mental health counseling so we've been getting along better
The biggest "good thing" is my bf's 94 year old grandma is still alive. Shes was doing bad for awhile (general old age stuff not covid) we thought she might not make Christmas but it looks like she might see the backside of 2020 and be able to greet 2021! Any extra day with her is a blessing :3

The only person I know who came down with the sickness seems to be recovering well ~fingers crossed~, and I'm hopeful! I was (and still am) worried about her.

I really adore SCP-3000. SCPs that reference real life mythos are some of my favorites!

I usually put on one of the scp youtubers to listen to the scp files while behind the computer, so I do know about the more well known scp's. It is a big stack of files on the wiki to read. Currently going through the joke scp's. Did start with reading the first files first, but 001 has a ton of files alone.
Other good things of the year.
Just sitting by the window and watching the wild birds visit the bird feeders.
And my new computer. Got it near the start of the year. Massive beast but lovely to look at. For those that want to get a computer with all in water cooling, it can and will make bubbling sounds. Half the time I think its leaking, but hasn't leaked.
And an old cat living down the street is still alive. He is an old sweet beast that spends almost all its time outside no matter the weather. When ever I walk by he rushes over to cuddle and drool over me. Before the winter started he got confined back inside to protect against the cold.

Re: Good Things discussion!
I managed to make myself a gift this year - The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Boxed Set, Illustrated Edition. It was probably not the most sensible decision, since I am already almost out of my emergency savings and I may be struggling for money soon, but I cannot bring myself to regret it. I have been dreaming about having my own copy of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit in the original language since I was a kid... It was actually one of my incentives to learn English properly. And this version is so beautiful! It may sound silly, but I have actually hugged the box when it finally arrived.
After the holiday bustle settled down yesterday, I have hidden myself in a quiet corner, wrapped myself in a blanket and begun to read. In silence, near the window decorated with lights, surrounded by scent of fir, oranges, cinnamon and cloves. Just like every time I read LotR, I was reading late into the night. And, probably for the first time in many months, I forgot about the real world, I forgot about my worries and my must-dos, I forgot about the nagging voice at the back of my head that constantly whispers that I am a failure - and I felt genuinely happy and at peace, and... just right.
I wish I knew how to bottle up this feeling.
