So P1 and P2 are the original breeders, H1 is the original hybrid, so X (new hybrid) can be obtained from both the original breeders and the hybrid.

What's P1+?

Edit: Oh. You're telling us we'll also get "failbreeds".

Okay, so actually probably not hippogryphs. And one of the parent creatures can make different color versions of itself?

Yeah, this sounds like it has to be direcores. Direwolves and manticores originally couldn't breed hybrids for a long time, though, which is what threw me off.
