Crowdsourced Backups

Just curious-MS has its own server, right? Are you using a RAID array, and were you before the crash? RAID will help keep these things from happening, as long as you stay on top of it when one disc goes down.

Hm. Maybe I'll try this once I get home. The computer I use is epic; I bet it could fit this site in amongst all the other junk stored on it. Just encase I don't have space, though, I'll probably do a bit of a cleanup first...

The process is this:
Every hour, staggered backups of much of the site's data are constructed, compressed, and encrypted with the most secure algorithms available and only retrievable with my own biometric information. It is set to expire in five years, which is long before technology is projected to advance enough to crack the information. it is then moved to an area accessible to everybody. Here: backups/

Forgive me if I'm being a pest, but I am not seeing updated files. It's the 6th now, and all but one of the backups is dated the 2nd. The one off is May 31st, two days before.

Are the backups loaded manually, and the time to do so just not available? Encryption taking longer than expected? I understand where hourly uploads might be a bit much, but I was hoping to see them at least every day. If that's unrealistic of me, I can step back my backup downloads to 1-2 times a week. Just want to know what I should reasonably expect.

I have a question... I saw one of my eggs DOB has changed since I last saw the egg. Well now a male hatchling... I had it like sometime in march. Does that happened with some people?

The backups haven't been running automatically for a little while... don't know why. I've been working on it.

Oh ok. Well it looked like the farthest it had back up is when I was Hiatus. I discovered that I have 5 presents and I know I had open them. But when I tried to open them it said 'This creature doesn't exist!' I know that you guys are working hard to get this running and have tried to get the backups going as well. Just I found those errors.
