Long ago, a simple dog was walking with his master through the thick of the forest. Upon meeting an angry Nandi bear, the dog fought and killed the animal but was mortally wounded in the fight. The man wept for his dog's death, thanking him for his courage and loyalty when most other animals would have run for their lives. He buried the dog with respect under a tree, mourning for it until he could no longer stay.
Voltar was moved by the act and gave the dog a new life- but the touch of the Fire God changed the dog, giving him the red and golden fur of the Tenera. Endowed with this new life, the dog made its way back to its home and master.
That is the story of the Tenera dog- long ago transformed by their amazing courage to be better protectors of those they love. The creatures bred from this first blessed dog became the species of Tenera- crossing overseas to our continent and populating our lands.
