A light chuckle escaped Aaron as Lilia made mention of how young and pampered Kida was. "Yeah, she kind of is." He rubbed her side lightly, making her tail wag a bit. Aaron smiled a bit as she smiled, enjoying himself quite a bit. It wasn't often he got to do something like this, unfortunately. Kida sat up slightly, panting happily and wagging her tail still. She licked her owner's hand and arm a few times and then put her head down on Lilia and licked her hand a little too.

To answer her question, Aaron said, "I don't know. I mean, I hang out at home and help out around there, I do stuff." he shrugged lightly. "Nothing I do is all that exciting... This is probably some of the most excitement I've had in a bit."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keira was very irritated at Ciel. Very irritated. She knew very well he couldn't see her, but couldn't help but frown as he spoke. Honestly, she didn't really care what he had to say at the moment. As he spoke, she stood from the couch and took a blanket with her, wishing he would just go away. In time, she'd get over it, maybe. But it was still fresh in her mind. "Please, Ciel. I need space." She turned and started heading upstairs after grabbing a bottle of water.
For the most part, she was unharmed. There were scratches on her arms and neck, but she was okay for the moment. It could have been worse.
Lilia smiled, scratching behind Kida's ears gently when her head rested on her lap. She was smitten on how cute the dog was and how close had she gotten with her. Watching him attentively, Lilia read the movement of his lips to know what he was telling her. Gotten used to it, it did not take her much time to know what he was conveying.
"You mean, about how I drop from a tree?" She joked, feeling rather joyous talking to another person for the first time. "With the town this small, I would not be surprised by the lack of entertainment." She commented, leaning back against the trunk of the tree.
"But wouldn't boy like your age have something to do? Like hanging out with friends and whatnot?" She asked curiously.
***
He could sense her frustration from the way she spoke but Ciel could not blame her for what she had been through. Getting attacked by an extinct animal was a no joke after all. At least she was alright.
"Oh okay.." Sounded flat and depressed.
Sighing, he turned his heels, walking down the steps and toward his car. No use being around any more since she did not have at least interest in seeing him. Well, he can always see her during work time tomorrow. There was no way she could avoid it...or at least he thought.
Sitting at the driver seat, he yawned when the fatigues overwhelmed him. He was not sure whether it was a side effect of the transformation or simply because he was tired but whatever it was, sleep was in order.
A smile and a light chuckle escaped Aaron as she mentioned falling from the tree. He changed his position and said with amusement, "Yeah, like that." He watched the Shepherd for a moment and saw how much Kida liked Lilia. She had warmed up to her pretty quickly, which was rather unusual, yet Aaron wasn't complaining. Kida wiggled around a little and seemed to be enjoying herself quite a bit. It was nice to see how she was enjoying herself.
Aaron nodded as Lilia made the comment about lack of entertainment. It was a pretty dull place here, and he was determined to get out of here when he grew older. In response to her question about him having something to do, he shrugged. "I don't have too many friends to hang out with, I guess."
Keira had headed upstairs to her bedroom and put down the blanket she had brought from downstairs. Then she walked over to her bedroom window and peeked out before closing the shades. It seemed Ciel had given up finally and had headed back to his car. That was all she needed for now. She closed the shades and turned on the lamp next to her bed, then laying down and pulling out a book to read.
Her mind wasn't on the book all that much though. Her head was swimming in thought as she remembered about tomorrow. She had some vacation days stocked up. Maybe she could use one of them. Yes, that sounded like a good idea. Besides, there was plenty around here she could do.
((Sorry for the super late reply... Didn't have my laptop to type up a reply till now.. T_T ))
Lilia was glad that she was at least getting along with one person. She thought that she would never speak with anyone for longer than 5 minutes since most peoples can't seem to keep up the conversation with her or vice versa. Slightly absent-minded, she glanced up to look at the sky that was slowly changing orange, darker as the time passed.
"Why not? You seem like someone who is sociable.." She exclaimed, slightly surprised. For someone like her, she did not understand how most people in the village spend their time. They seemed to have someone else alongside or a group of friends to pass the time. "It is hard for me to make friends tho since i can only focus on one person at one time." She murmured softly, dejected with the thought although she was pretty used to it by now.
***
Sighed, Ciel turned the steering wheel, the car whirled out of the driveway and onto the small untarred road. He drove silently all the way back home, slightly depressed. Well, he could not blame her for not wanting to see him. After all, he did frighten her and god knew what he did when he lost control. A smilodon of all creatures. Not actually a house cat or a tamed big cat.
Once he reached home, he shut himself in his work room once again although he had lose interest in looking anything related to the experiments for a while. Leaning against the swivel chair, he stared at the ceiling, his mind empty of anything while he continued to look.
"Why a smilodon?" He thought after his mind returned to reality. There was a lot of questions running around in his mind but so far, he came up with nothing. Yawning, he looked through the report that Keira had been so kind to leave behind thought sleepiness got the better of him soon.
[[No problem. I'm a little slow on replying myself, so it's all good.]]
Aaron was actually surprised to find talking to this girl so easy. He had always been sort of the oddball out, being picked on for having heightened senses and other stuff like that. People would spray heavy colognes or perfumes in front of him to make him gag or make loud or high-pitched noises to bother him. In return, he wasn't the most popular guy around. Kind of like the creepy weirdo in the shadows to be ignored.
When she made the comment about him seeming sociable, a smile appeared on his face. "I can be, though I'm not usually." He paused. Then he said, "Let's just say I'm not the most popular with other people. I don't get along with them too well." Aaron swallowed and glanced at the ground, nodding slightly when she quietly talked about why it was so hard for her to make friends. He was kind of afraid what she might do if he told her why it was hard for him to get along with others.
~~~~

Back in her home, despite the all the drama of recent events. Keira couldn't help but wonder why a Smilodon too. Why not something like a small tabby or a tame tiger or something? She hadn't heard of an extinct animal being part of the project. This was certainly new. Then again, none of the other scientists were testing on themselves like Ciel was. Was he doing something different in his experiments? Hm...

Keira walked into the next room, returning to her bedroom with her laptop and charging cord. She set up a small table next to her bed and put the laptop on the table, plugging it in to charge. Then she sat cross-legged on her bed, piles of papers and files next to her with her laptop in front of her as she started doing some research.

Lilia could not possibly imagine why Aaron was an outcast from anyone else. He was after all, one of the few nicest people that she ever met and they were really 'click' into these conversation. "Why not?" She asked curiously, her moss green eyes stared inquisitively at him. "It's not that you are unusual or something." She saw nothing was wrong with him. He looked and acted normal. Could it be that he was hiding something under those mask of perfectness? Lilia watched him turned slightly uneasy, a bit tense as if he was uncomfortable with the question. "Well, you don't have to answer if you don't want to. This little cat isn't that curious." She joked.

Dazed, she let her mind wandered for a while, breathing softly as the cool breeze ruffled her hair before she turned back to look at Aaron. "Look at how time flies.." She commented, glancing at the sky that was gradually turning dark. It was almost time for her to return home for the day else her mum would be worried sick at her absence.

***
Ciel sighed, letting the file slipped through his fingers and dropped onto his desk. He leaned back, resting his head against the chair while his mind was deep in thought. So far, he cannot come up with ideas that would explain the strangeness in his own experiment. It was already hard that he lost the trust given by his partner, now he can't even think up of anything. Despite his level of intelligence that was slightly higher than anyone his age or most of the people in the lab, it was Keira that was attentiveness to details that made this whole experiment possible.
"But come to think of it... He is after all, the first successful person to turn into an animal.." He thought, feeling slightly proud of himself.

He rubbed his face to chase away the weariness before proceeding with his work by looking through the file of him patients. While doing so, he wondered how long Keira was going to be angry with him instead of forgiving him for the whole big secret. But at least he did not have to worry of being rat out to the higher ups for his impulsive decision.

[[My deepest apologies for not posting for a while. This year has not started off well, unfortunately.]]

Aaron ran his hand through his hair for a moment as he tried to decide how best to explain things to her without scaring her off. For being someone he had just met, he decided that so far, he rather liked this girl. Quiet company, and someone he could talk to. Yes, he had Kida, but unfortunately, as good of a friend as she was, it wasn't like the German Shepherd was going to start talking back to him and offer him advice or something along those lines.

He had been so lost in thought for a moment that he had almost missed the last little bit she said to him, the part about him not having to answer if he didn't want to. "What? Oh, no, I'll answer. It's fine. Just thinking of how to answer. That's all." He offered her a slight smile with a chuckle. This whole conversation thing was kind of new to him. "I don't know... I mean, I guess crowds are too loud, tight, close, something like that for me. Some people see me as... scary? I'm not sure. I just know I don't quite fit in." Aaron looked at her as the wind blew slightly. When she commented about the time, he said, "Yeah, you're right." Then he hesitated slightly. This was someone who didn't see him as a freak, and he enjoyed the company. Maybe... "I don't know if this is weird or anything, but, um, when you go home, do you want me to, uh, walk you there or something?"

~~~
The sun was starting to set, and Keira had closed her laptop and was now lying on the bed. Her eyes were closed and yet, she could picture her ceiling so well that she might as well have had her eyes open and been staring at it. Goes to show what happens most of the time I'm home alone, she thought with a slightly depressed sigh. Hm... Perhaps staying angry at Ciel wasn't the right way to go. After all, what was it accomplishing? Positively nothing. Keira sighed and opened her eyes, sitting up. Sooner or later they'd have to work things out, or people might start asking if they went on working and avoiding each other.
After a small bit of arguing with herself, she finally picked up the phone and dialed Ciel's number. He probably wasn't home, so she tried his office first.
((That's okay since I'm a little busy myself so might not be on often to reply.. I'm glad that you want to keep going ^.^ ))
Lilia turned and looked at the boy, expecting any sort of answer although he was quiet and in daze. She began to worry, thinking that she might have said something that sounded hurtful or some sort. Being alone all time, she was kind of new to this sort of conversation and therefore, was not sure if she was speaking right. She looked when she thought Aaron was talking to her and sure enough, she caught his lips' movement. Catching up to the pace he was talking, she managed to interpret what he was trying to convey.
"Really? I don't think you're that scary." She ensured. "In fact, I find your company pretty pleasant... i think." She continued, blushing slightly as she was feeling embarrassed for commenting like that. Sure that Aaron looked mature and older but she found out that he was pretty easy-going and nice to talk to... At least, he was not dissing on her disability.
"Uh.. Sure.. why not?" She answered although she was not expecting that either. "If you are free, that is." She added, gathering herself up with her book under her arm. "Let's go.. I guess."
***
The phone in his office was ringing continuously until it went into his voice mail.
If you're ended up here, it means i don't have time dealing with you people... Either that, you have reach the wrong voice mail. Otherwise, it is because I'm currently away. This is Ciel Blackthorn so please leave a message if you see fit. Thank you
