Anniversary Team Competition - the Results!

Hello everyone!

After four weeks, the competition is finally over. It has been a fierce battle, there has been laughter and tears, as well as cries of both outrage and joy. Buildings have been set on fire and balls of yarn were rolling everywhere. The last one was probably a ploy by the Woolie Jumpers to distract the kitties of the Predawn Chill from breeding.

But now it's over and the family creatures can finally rest and cool off. But who has won? That's what I'm here to tell you. The numbers you will see differ sightly from what's on the family pages, as there are a few ineligible members in all families, due to freezing, releasing or, unfortunately, because they were botted to grow them fast. But those are just a very few, and I'm proud to say that almost everyone acted honest and fair during the competition.

Fifth place: of the Predawn Chill
Highest generation: 43
Eligible members: 2354
Total number of points: 2564

The team got off to a bit of a slow start, probably due to being tired from getting up predawn, but they never lost their spirit and quickly caught up to the rest of the field. In the end, it wasn't quite enough, but never for a lack of trying.

Fourth place: Lizardbutt
Highest generation: 48
Eligible members: 2535
Total number of points: 2770

After a moment of confusion in the beginning, this team flared up quickly and ran hot for the rest of the competition. They were having a great party, probably because with all the fire, they were perfectly set up for a barbecue.

Third place: Woolie Jumpers
Highest generation: 62
Eligible members: 3065
Total number of points: 3370

This team was both the most tightly knit and the most fashionable of the five. Like a flock of sheep, they would always stick together. The Anaugi were hot on their heels, but luckily, wool is fireproof and so they prevailed.

Second place: No one
Wait, what? I didn't know there was a team called that!

First place: Sun Callisto and Rainbow Connection
Highest generation (Sun Callisto): 88
Eligible members (Sun Callisto): 5987
Total number of points (Sun Callisto): 6422

Highest generation (Rainbow Connection): 132
Eligible members (Rainbow Connection): 5767
Total number of points (Rainbow Connection): 6422

Yes, everyone, you might not believe it but we actually have a draw! In the end, neither of the two top teams could pull ahead, the hippocampi making up in raw numbers what the puvias gained from generations.
Team Sun Callisto found itself floundering and treading water early in the competition, but soon they got back into gear and went full speed ahead. Due to their efforts, they can now bath in the glory of victory.
Team Rainbow Connection soared sky-high from the start, leading the competition almost from the beginning. They never grew complacent and kept up the effort, and thus they flew over the victory line!

Congratulations to our first place winners, but in my eyes, you are all winners for the effort and team spirit you showed!

Of course no competition is complete without prizes. We have three different kinds of reward:

Team Effort prize: Everyone who signed up, no matter if they actually bred anything or not gets 50 gold per eligible creature in that family. So this is the amount of gold each of you gets:
Sun Callisto: 299400
Rainbow Connection: 288350
Woolie Jumpers: 153250
Lizardbutt: 126750
of the Predawn Chill: 117700

Participation prize: Everyone who managed to breed at least three family members during the competition gets a Voltarian Alphyn egg. For every three failed attempts, a particpant will need one less successful breeding, so 2 successes + 3 fails, 1 success + 6 fails or 9 fails will also net this reward.
IMPORTANT: It's this egg: Image. If you got one, make sure you don't freeze or release it, because there is no telling when you'll have another chance to get one of those. You'll never forgive yourself.

Winning prize: Each member of the two winning team gets one Golden Pteira Crystalwing egg and one Purple Pteira Crystalwing egg.

Despite some hiccups, mistakes and drama, I think this competition was a huge success. Thank you to all of you for participating and making this event what it was. We, the MS team, certainly learned some things from it and will apply that to future events. I hope you're looking forward to that as much as I do.
Team Ziraafa is interviewing people on what they think about the event and what you liked and disliked. We want to take your opinions into account, so please send your feedback to our duly elected representative of Ziraafa Press, Rosehill.

Edit: the team forums will stay open for another week, then they will be locked. They will however still be visible to teams afterwards. Make sure you finish everything you had going on in there and/or save whatever you still need. The click threads in those forums will be locked right away, though.
