I've done tons of traditional sketches, have a decent number of photo manipulations under my belt, and have done my fair share of digital art. After doing some research on pixel art, I thought I'd give it a try. It seemed pretty simple, but as it turns out, it does take some skill.

Anyway, I'd like to get some critiques on my pixel art. Below is the first one I've done:

I think they're really pretty. If there would be one critique I would had, it would be that the outline gets a bit muddled in places because of the shading. What I mean by that is that in some places its hard to see where the back ends and where the "backfin" starts. The shading itself and the colour gradients are very pretty however.
