they're permanent in the stream, new critters always flood when they are first released so you have an extra chance to grab them (after the flood, they'll just be randomly in the stream so a bit rarer/harder to snag but still there)

O I missed the flood while I was at sea. Without a tributary listed, it could be a while before I get my pairs! lol
