Hatchling
Spoiler
Elisium fawns are gentle, shy, and quiet. They keep to themselves and never bother anyone. They are so well-behaved that some worry the fawns are sick. Most other hatchlings are busy causing chaos amongst themselves while also having fun, but never the elisium kirins. They are so peaceful that everybody loves them. The fawns quickly bond with magi, and require few things from their human friends. They grow colorful flowers, which they eat, so one never has to worry about feeding these creatures. As they never cause trouble, one could easily forget they have a kirin hatchling nearby. Although easy to care for, with many preferring the low responsibility, the hatchlings still require some attention. Kind words and a few pets show the hatchlings they are loved and wanted.

Adult
Spoiler
The only time someone sees adult elisium kirins is when they begin their long track from the south to the Silva forest. It might seem strange for the magical deer to migrate, but they do so to lay their eggs in safety. No one sees them on their way back south, but with every new year, the elisium kirins pass the Keep at the end of summer. Sometimes, the herd is made entirely of new deer. On other occasions, some of the kirins return for a second visit. The easiest way to recognize a specific kirin is by the flowers that grow in its wake. Each adult has a preference for a flower and sometimes even for a specific color. There are many types of flowers and just as many kirins; oddly enough, the kirins seem to have an understanding going between them: that one kirin will never grow the flower of another.
General
Spoiler
There are many magical creatures that mark the ending of a season or the beginning of another. The elisium kirin is one such creature. The kirin doesn't actually have anything to do with the transition, and its appearance at the end of summer is a simple coincidence. The elisium kirins migrate from the south towards the pass in the Alasre mountains. Once they pass the mountains, they can lay their eggs safely deep inside the Silva forest. They stop at the Keep for a few weeks, where they sometimes leave their fawns in the hands of trusted magi. As the foals prance about and bond with the magi, small flowers grow in their wake, giving the illusion of an extended summer even if the temperatures decrease and the nights turn longer. The adults can be persuaded to grow lovely bouquets for events, but one needs to be careful not to offend these sensible creatures. As easy as it is for them to grow beautiful flowers as it is for them to wither all vegetation around them.
