Oh, well, I think it looks rather Anubis-like.

Re: new temple cat
Off topic: They look similar to begin with, but the difference is like dog (bigger breeds like Husky or the Wolfhound--which is wolf x german cross--not those chihuahuas) versus wolf. The Sutekh Beast (Sha, Set Animal), has square ears, a square muzzle, and a forked tail. While our Shaa also have horns and the tail isn't forked but instead tufted, it's still more Sutekh than Anubis.SilverSun wrote:Oh, well, I think it looks rather Anubis-like.Morgaln wrote: The Shaa is actually based on the Set animal, which is also called Sha.

I realize that our Shaas, the angle makes their ears look pointed, but they aren't. A close look at the top shows that they are square and are pointing toward each other. Kind of like ] [ to me.
On topic: The arguments that old ones will lose their value, that people who don't want new ones already don't because they have the new ones, and that new sprites shouldn't be made simply because there are already old ones annoy me.
I want another one. Whether it's a recolor of what we had (which I think would love gorgeous same pose and all, just black), or a Sekhmet/Bastet theme, I don't care, I just want another Temple Cat and it BE a Temple Cat and not just another cat. I love the one I have and I love variations/more colors of things. I think that makes a site more interesting than just ONE color of something. Look at how popular Squiby is, and people have 12 colors of that Anubis-like creature or 900 of those mites.

Thank you! this arguement also annoys me to no end for the very same reasons. But regardless, people will complain and whine no matter which way it goes.TalisRaye wrote: On topic: The arguments that old ones will lose their value, that people who don't want new ones already don't because they have the new ones, and that new sprites shouldn't be made simply because there are already old ones annoy me.

Re: new temple cat
Why else do we want "trophy" pets? When you get right down to it, this is one of the largest reasons: NOT the only one, but as someone was trying to point out, it seems to be a big reason.DevilCrest wrote:Just because I have one is not a valid reason to assume that's the reason why I don't want one.umbreon241 wrote:I just went digging in a few people's Keeps and I noticed the people who don't want another Temple Cat already have one. I think they don't want another because their Temple Cats will lose value and won't be as special.
I love the doni creatures and want to own them, but I'm excited - my basilisks are my trophies and I display them proudly. "I accomplished something many others couldn't" - that's what it's about for many people.
Otherwise I'd just nab the image off someone else's Keep and be just as happy, right?
xD
And most of the people that I do see complaining and not wanting new ones do already own one ... or several. Like all estimations, we have to start someplace, and like others have thought, I would also think that there is a connection between so many users that own TC's not wanting remakes.
That's logic: a step towards narrowing reasons behind something down: if many are thinking something and they are all the same type, it gives a compelling argument. Not a definitive argument, but a very compelling one. So please, when someone says something like that don't snap at them. It makes sense.
AND ANYWAY. I still say that any remakes won't take away from other pets and stuff xDD
And ...
Gosh darnit, I don't like cats so much! XDD Cats and unicorns, gee whiz. Popularity makes me cringe. I almost don't even want a darn TC now just because it's so darn popular xDDD My OCD makes me want 'one of everything' though, so eh.

This is the first time I hear someone calling a creature in their keep a trophy.ellysketchit wrote:Why else do we want "trophy" pets?
Seriously people, move on. I went through lots of trouble to get my TCs and I wasn't sitting around and whining how badly I want that cat.
[sarcasm]Here's an idea, let's ask for a remake of every donation creature, then everyone will be happy [/sarcasm]

I do wonder though, why is it the temple cat that has people so excited? The void/celestial dragons usually sell for more and yet there's no major drama surrounding them.

You know, I totally didn't think of that when I saw the Shaa. But now that I think about it...xDMorgaln wrote:The Shaa is actually based on the Set animal, which is also called Sha.SilverSun wrote:Kinda like the Ashen Shaa?DevilCrest wrote:

Magistream has a Set Beast! Yay!
Honestly? I don't know. I think it might be because the Temple Cat has one of the better done (in my opinion) sprites out of the old donation pets. I mean, I love dragons. But the Void/Celestial Dragon sprites...I don't know, there's something about them that just doesn't do it for me.Carthasis wrote:I do wonder though, why is it the temple cat that has people so excited? They are, essentially, "trophy" pets. She was just trying to make a point, really, no need to jump her throat for it. And I also don't think it was the OP's intention to stir up drama over this. No one is really "whining about how badly" they want the cat, just stating their opinions on the matter.dioma wrote:This is the first time I hear someone calling a creature in their keep a trophy.ellysketchit wrote:Why else do we want "trophy" pets?

I want to roleplay. Particularly, Dragon Age. If you're interested in a semi-lit/adv-lit Dragon Age RP, shoot me a message.

Re: new temple cat
I believe it's because the Temple Cat was/is the first mid-month donation pet on MS. (Don't quote me on that..this info is from a fuzzy memory. No, it's not mold. )Carthasis wrote:I do wonder though, why is it the temple cat that has people so excited?
