Perhaps if Lucifer is the only one creating the chimeras that possibly solves the problem of inviting the others back to the Keep, since he is supposed to die in the end?

@xmands: Actually, I was thinking of him surviving, the magic self-destruct spell being neutralized by Thane.

@Kestrad: I like the idea of Thane telling only a few people, with Ariel overhearing them.

They'd probably rather have the magi at the Keep where they can keep an eye on them, rather than outside where they can practice dark magic at their whim. But we could also have just Lucifer expelled, since he was the leader, and offer the other magi places in the Keep to accept or decline as they like.

@Lorelei: I was originally planning one-on-one battles too, but it seems that we have more goodies than baddies! And I've never watched Power Rangers, unfortunately, but if it's anything like the usual shounen anime I watch, everyone miraculously powers up at the brink of death. And yes, yes we should have that.

I can be another baddie, especially if he/she doesn't show up much. Also: Tyrone is terrified of Miltiades, so they can't interact. At all. Like, Tyrone turns into a quivering, mewling ball of wimpyness... it's adorable. Wait, what? Well, they can interact, but don't expect him to fight.

And yes, pretty much. Like shonen anime.

Actually, my evil character's backstory means that she'll probably really want to attack my good character, so it would be nice if that battle starts with my evil character disabling my good character immediately and one of the other good characters jumps in.

As for the chimera, maybe Lucifer didn't see anything wrong with creating hybrids, while Thane thought it was a really bad idea and split from him, and from there Lucifer proceeded further and further down the path of experimentation, partly to spite Thane, justifying it all the while to himself. He'd probably have to have had some codependency issues to begin with, so that Thane splitting from him turns him into an actual mess
