Alicanto Heart Stacking

Hallo! this may be a silly question but I noticed there is nothing about the heart stacking. I figure owning more than 1 does nothing for me, but wanted to check. I haven't tried to buy a second one, so if it will give me an error and I'm just too poor to know, then disregard.
