Amber Sunid #992

General

Sunids have for years been considered exotic pets for the wealthy and eccentric, requiring very particular care and lots of attention. Only recently has it come to light that those requirements have been greatly overblown. While sunids do tend to have spotless homes, the small creatures mostly do this themselves. They take great joy in carefully rearranging their dens, and their favorite foods include spoiled fruits, old meat, and various other waste. This diet does tend to give their by-products an unfortunate odour, but even that, if allowed to dry in the sun, becomes a rich fragrance greatly (and quietly) sought by perfumers across the world.

Egg

This dull brown egg has a sweet, earthy scent.

Hatchling

Sunid hatchlings are active - and hungry - at birth, and their first meal is typically their own eggshell. From there they immediately go in search of things and creatures to interact with, rearranging their environment and cozying up to any living thing. While it's not clear if the ability is biological or magical, something about them seems to calm even the most aggressive temperaments. These sweet creatures can often be found playing and napping with violent predators who might otherwise consider them a tasty snack.

Adult

At full size, sunids are only slightly larger than toy dog breeds, and most of that size is in circumference. They are extremely social, but actually get along better with other species than with their own kind, since multiple sunids together may have strong disagreements about how to decorate their territory. Admittedly people often find these disagreements amusing as the sunids grumble at each other while moving one object back and forth. Still, for their own happiness they are best kept with a variety of other creatures to decorate for and clean up after. They are also very strong, capable of moving things many times their size - though given how small they are, that might extend to a light stool or end table.
